When you understand right principles of Budo, the position in which you apply it, doesn't matter. Budo techniques are to be applied in any position and any direction. These pics are the proof of Aikido effectiveness in the past.

So modern Aikidance and Aikido are not the same. Be very careful when you choose the Teacher.. The good Teacher is an alive art in action. There are no good or bad arts there are good or bad Teachers. I know only one really Great Teacher of Budo - Nebi Vural Sensei. He is an incredible person with the most effective and logical technique I have ever seen.
